Our Story
Pomegranate Music is an indie world and classical record label that was started in Framingham, Massachusetts by Raffi Meneshian in 2001. The initial focus of the label was to record and release music from Armenia. Eventually, the label transitioned its scope to include classical guitar music.
The artistic director of design was Arsineh Khachikian Valladian. She designed all of our albums.
Pomegranate Music featured commissioned photography from Arsineh Khachikian Valladian, Winslow Martin, Zaven Khachikyan, George Imirzian, Berta Martirosyan, Garo Lachinian, Sam Esereyi, Gilberto Tadday, and others.
Most recordings were done in Armenia with others being done in the Artsakh Republic, Greece, and Italy.
The album has released seventeen original studio albums on CD, one digital studio album and three digital live albums. One album was remastered and re-released (Noesis) under a separate catalog number (POM CD-1931).
Pomegranate Music is still active, but is taking a hiatus from releasing new recordings at this time as of 2026.
